Adding Vermicompost to Aquaponics

(Biponica) (David Epstein)

Anyone who gardens has probably come to find out that adding worm castings to their garden will have hugely benefits to their plant growth. In this display we find an experiment where the worms and their castings are being added to a water based system. You can follow Epstein at his link above to see how it turns out.

This experiment is of interest to me in that the 3000 gallon system I am constructing in the greenhouse at Peaceful Gardens inside the Marion County Fairgrounds will be run exclusively on vermicompost castings in its early stages. It will be interesting to see how well it works.
