Upcoming workshop: Options and Considerations for Raised Bed Gardens

First the nitty gritty:

This is a FREE two hour workshop which focuses on planning and implementing a raised bed garden based on your site and its specific needs; rather than taking a one size fails all approach.

During this workshop we will discuss why we utilize raised bed gardens, what we need to consider when planning these beds and several methods of raised bed construction. We will specifically discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each type of raised bed in relation to the conditions of various sites.

The workshop will be held at the Wunderkammer Company. It is located at 3402 Fairfield Ave, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46807. This will happen on Friday, September 26 at 5:00pm – 7:00pm

As noted in blurb above, rather than just give a set of instructions for how to build a basic (or whatever recipe you prefer) raised bed, that may or may not fit into any particular design or environment… we decided it would be more useful to start from the beginning and actually talk about ways to create a better growing environment by observing our system and designing our beds based on the needs of our site and what we are choosing to grow.

This course will discuss basic double reach beds, mini-swale systems, keyhole gardens, lasagna beds, the Ruth Stout method, the “Back to Eden” method and huglekulture.

So, if you are in Ft Wayne might be on the 26th, come check it out.
